What happens next
- We reply. We aim to reply within two business days. We check the service suits you and offer appointment times.
- We confirm the details. Fees, Medicare or funding, video or phone arrangements, and any intake information needed before your first session.
- Your first session. We send your Coviu link, or your psychologist calls you at the agreed time for a phone session.
Already referred by your GP? We contact you once we receive the referral. If you have the referral yourself, request an appointment and we’ll explain how to send it securely.
Medicare rebates
For an eligible individual session of at least 50 minutes, by video or phone, the Medicare rebate is $101.55. You pay the $235 fee and claim the rebate, so your cost is $133.45.
To be eligible you need a Mental Health Treatment Plan and a referral before your first rebated session. A plan alone isn’t a referral. Medicare covers up to 10 individual sessions a year across all providers: up to six on an initial referral, then more after a review and a new referral.
How to get a referral
- See your GP. Use your usual GP or practice or, if you’re registered with MyMedicare, a GP at that practice. A one-off appointment with another GP or an online service may not qualify. Ask for a longer appointment to discuss your mental health.
- Ask about a Mental Health Treatment Plan and referral. If you’re eligible, your GP prepares or reviews your plan and writes a referral for psychological treatment. A psychiatrist can also refer you.
- Request an appointment. You can do this while you arrange the referral. We’ll explain how to send it before your first rebated session.
Couples counselling is privately funded and can’t be claimed under Better Access. Private health insurance may cover some sessions depending on your policy, but you can’t claim Medicare and private health insurance for the same session.
Rebate checked 7 October 2026 against MBS item 91170 (video) and 91184 (phone). Eligibility, session limits and the Medicare Safety Net can affect your benefit.
WorkCover, TAC and EAP
Dr Glenda Lattimore (Registered Psychologist) sees clients through workers compensation (often called WorkCover), Victoria’s Transport Accident Commission (TAC) and Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), subject to approval.
Approved sessions may have no gap fee. Before booking we confirm that your scheme or program covers telehealth with Dr Lattimore, how many sessions are approved and any cost to you. For EAP, your employer’s program must authorise the sessions. Invoices go to the funding organisation.

Payment and cancellations
You pay the full fee for each session and receive a receipt to claim any Medicare rebate. Payment can be made by card through Coviu or by bank transfer.
Cancelling or rescheduling
We understand that plans can change and unexpected things happen. Your appointment time is reserved especially for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule, giving us early notice helps us offer that time to someone else who needs support. When an appointment is cancelled at short notice, it can be difficult to fill, so a cancellation fee may apply.
Please give at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule without a fee. This includes weekends and public holidays: for a Monday 10 am appointment, let us know by Saturday 10 am.
With less than 48 hours’ notice, the fee is 50% of your agreed session fee. If you miss an appointment without notice, a fee of up to the full agreed session fee may apply, limited to the practice’s reasonable loss.
Fees may be reduced or waived for sudden illness, emergencies, significant technical problems or exceptional hardship. No cancellation fee applies if we fill your appointment, if your psychologist cancels, or if a technical problem at our end prevents the session.
To cancel or reschedule, email [email protected] or reply to your appointment email. Notice is counted from when your message reaches us, even if we read it later.
Medicare does not cover cancellation or missed-appointment fees. Agency-funded appointments follow the rules agreed with the funding organisation. We explain the applicable terms and ask you to agree before confirming your booking.
At the standard fees, a late cancellation is $117.50 for individual therapy or $147.50 for couples counselling.
Phone and video sessions
Video sessions use Coviu on a phone, tablet or computer with a camera and reliable internet. Phone sessions are available for individual therapy when video isn’t practical and phone care is clinically suitable; Dr Lattimore calls you at the agreed time. Fees are the same for both.
Secure, interactive care with Coviu
Coviu is purpose-built for healthcare, including psychology, with encrypted calls to help protect your privacy. Your psychologist can share visual resources and use a shared whiteboard to explain ideas, explore patterns and practise strategies together. These tools can make sessions more interactive and ideas easier to understand.

There’s no need to dress up. Your comfy couch and comfortable clothes are welcome, as long as you can speak privately and focus on the conversation. If being on camera feels difficult, let us know beforehand so we can discuss what would help and whether a phone appointment is suitable. Couples appointments are by video.
- Choose somewhere private where you won’t be overheard, and don’t join while driving.
- At the start, your psychologist confirms where you are and a backup phone number in case the connection drops.
- If telehealth stops suiting your needs, the next step is discussed with you.
